| 21/12/05 - Work begins on new roads on Santiago |

Prime Minister Jose Maria Neves will preside over various ground-breaking ceremonies for the construction of a series of roads, some of which will be asphalted, in a number of municipalities on the island of Santiago today and tomorrow. The ceremonies will begin today in Santa Catarina with the beginning of work on the road networks linking Assomada to Rincao, Fonte Lima to Josa Bernardo and Figueira das Naus to Ribeira das Patas. According to the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transportation, the Prime Minister will also attend ground-breaking ceremonies for the roads linking Ărgaos to Pedra Badejo and Cruz Grande to Calhetona. The projects are budgeted at approximately one billion escudos and are being financed within the framework of the Millennium Challenge Account program.
