The Minister of the Economy, Growth and Competitiveness, Joao Pereira Silva, will preside today over the public presentation of the Cesaria Resort tourist village project on the island of Sao Vicente.

According to the local Sao Vicente delegation of Cape Verdean investment and tourism promotion agency Cabo Verde Investimentos (CI), the ceremony will take place beginning at 11:00 am in the Porto Grande Hotel conference room, and will be attended by the island’s main public officials and economic operators.

The five-star Cesaria Resort - Jewel of the Atlantic enterprise, promoted by ZKM Investments, a business group with various interests in southeast Asia, is budgeted at 125 million euros and will be located in the integrated tourist development zone of Palha Carga. Work on the 1,850,000-square-meter project will begin in January 2007.

The project includes a 250-room five-star hotel, an 18-hole golf course, a marina and beach club and a high-standard residential complex with approximately 1,000 apartments. The complex is also projected to have a health and beauty club, a commercial center, a tennis and sports club, a soccer field and an office block. The promoters of the initiative will be responsible for constructing the access roads to the enterprise, which will be self-sufficient in terms of water, electricity and sewage.
