Cape Verdean tourism-sector entrepreneurs signed five conventions yesterday, November 29, with the government for the construction of hotel complexes on the island of Sal. The total amount of the accord surpasses US$ 200 million..........

During the ceremony, which took place at Cape Verdean investment and tourism promotion agency Cabo Verde Investimentos (CI), the owner of Paradise Beach, Jorge Spencer Lima, said that the signing of the conventions would translate into the entrance of a considerable crop of Cape Verdean entrepreneurs into the sector, considered one of the islands' motors of development.

In the opinion of CI president Jorge Fidalgo, the government's support in the promotion of the Cape Verdean business class is relevant, given that it will give greater confidence to foreign investors.

Minister of the Economy, Growth and Competitiveness Joao Pereira Silva also stressed that the government is open toward supporting Cape Verdean entrepreneurs with ideas able to be transformed into reality.

The conventions were signed by the Minister of the Economy and by representatives of Tecnicil, Editur, Murdeira Golf Resort, Paradise Beach and Cabo Golf.
