In order to make the emergence of new job posts possible, Neves announced a program aimed at simplifying creation of new companies in the country. “By December we will launch the ‘business in a day’ program, which will allow any citizen or any entrepreneur wishing to create a company to do so in one day,” announced the Prime Minister.

Another “revolutionary” measure will be the creation of an electronic portal where citizens and investors will be able to obtain official administrative documents from anywhere in the world. This second announcement was made by Neves during the opening of the second Cape Verdean information society forum, which will be taking place in Praia until Wednesday.

Cape Verde’s performance in the information society realm was praised this afternoon by one of the forum’s participants, Portugal’s Carlos Oliveira, according to whom electronic governance in Cape Verde is relatively advanced, surpassing a number of European countries, including Portugal.
