Six entrepreneurs representing nine of Cape Verde’s main tourist real-estate enterprises met to discuss the creation of the Association of Tourist Real Estate Companies. Businessmen Eugénio Inocêncio, Júlio de Carvalho, José Almada, Belarmino Lucas, Jorge Spencer Lima and Diniz Fonseca were the participants of this first meeting, as was Gualberto do Rosário, the representative of the Union of Tourist Operators UNOTUR, which supports the initiative.

The meeting came following a meeting between representatives of the sector and Prime Minister José Maria Neves, in which the entrepreneurs agreed upon the need to come together to create an association to promote a favorable business atmosphere. As such, the association is expected to function as a link between business executives in the sector, both Cape Verdean and foreign, and the state and society in general.
