 The government has decided to alter working hours in the public sector during the 2006 World Cup, which begins today, June 9, in Germany. Beginning Friday 9th June, public services will open at 7:30 am and close at 2:30, without a lunch break. The special Schedule does not, however, apply to all State services. Among the exceptions are the police, the various fire departments, and the Armed Forces. Private services are, naturally, not affected by the decision.
